Cyberpunk 2077 will be repaired, but CD Projekt asks not to overestimate expectations from old PlayStation 4 and Xbox One hardware

Apologizing to users Playstation 4 and Xbox one for a problem launch Cyberpunk 2077, company management CD Projekt RED held a meeting with investors, at which he once again assured that he was actively working on improving the console versions. However, partners and users are asked not to overestimate the expectations of the graphics and the level of performance on old consoles – even when all the patches are released, the game will still not be able to look like on powerful PCs on such hardware.… What specific level the studio is striving for is not specified. But virtually all marketing was based on the PC version.

CD Projekt believes it was a mistake by not showing the game on the base Xbox and PlayStation consoles of the outgoing generation prior to release. The team spent a lot of time optimizing Cyberpunk 2077 for different PC configurations and tried to bring to mind the console versions to the last, but did not manage to cope with all the key problems.

When asked by investors about whether console players will receive compensation, for example, in the form of a free distribution of one of the planned paid add-ons, CD Projekt did not answer. The studio is now fully focused on improving the technical side of Cyberpunk 2077.

The next update for the console versions will be released in the next 7 days, and after the holidays, two big patches will follow: one in January, the other in February 2023. A full nextgen version of Cyberpunk 2077 is also in development for Playstation 5 and Xbox series x
