The NBA 2K20 scandal was not in vain: PEGI will start flagging games with lootboxes

Representatives of the European rating system Pan european game information (Pegi) followed the example of colleagues from an American non-governmental organization Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) by making changes to the rules of work. This is stated in an official statement.

So, censors when rating will make notes about the presence of lootboxes in games, from which random items drop out (Includes Paid Random Items) And if you can buy in-game items or DLC (not lootboxes), PEGI now has a special icon In-game purchases (in-game purchases). Changes are relevant for physical and digital copies.

Last year, PEGI representatives defended 2K, which filled the sports project NBA 2K20 a whole bunch of review. We are talking about analogues of a pachinko machine, slot machine, Wheel of Fortune, and so on. There is even a loot box with 20 sticker packs in it.

At the same time, the rating organization gave the project a rating of 3+. The position was as follows: the player does not receive a real reward, therefore the NBA 2K20 cannot be assigned a warning about review (review)
