BBC: House of Lords in Britain demanded equate lootboxes to review

The review Committee in the House of Lords demanded in a short time to introduce restrictions on the use of lootboxes in computer games in the UK. Parliamentarians believe that this mechanism is subject to the 2005 review Act.

“If the product looks like a game of chance and feels like a game of chance, then you need to regulate it like a game of chance,” the Chamber said.

At the same time, British parliamentarians are demanding that the authorities do not hesitate in deciding on this issue. As the head of the committee, Lord Gray, explained, in a number of countries restrictions on lootboxes have already been introduced, because local officials see the danger posed by in-game mechanics.

The UK problem was that the review Act is outdated and does not take into account market changes. At the same time, minors are increasingly becoming victims of new forms of review (55 thousand incidents related to children aged 11-16 years).
