The parent company THQ Nordic bought the creators of World War Z and the Switch version of The Witcher 3 – Saber Interactive

In particular, the team ported to Nintendo switch large-scale role project The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and managed to work with Microsoft over franchise Halo.

As part of the deal, all Saber Interactive studios, including those based in Russia and Belarus, will become part of the Embracer Group. At the same time, the structure will remain independent, and the founders and owners of Saber Interactive Matthew Karch and Andrey Iones will become the second largest shareholders of Embracer Group.

The deal amounted to $ 150 million. Additionally, the founders of Saber Interactive can receive up to $ 375 million as a reward for the subsequent successful operation of the group of studios.

“We have long been interested in Saber Interactive – the company is famous for its long history and quality work. Its ambitious steps towards self-financing its games in recent years have been particularly impressive, especially with the example of World War Z, which has sold over three million copies.”

Embracer Group hopes that with it Saber Interactive will be able to reach an even wider audience.

At the end of 2019, Embracer Group and THQ Nordic acquired Little Nightmares developers. Earlier, studios also joined them. Warhorse (Kingdom Come: Deliverance) and Gunfire games (Darksiders, Remnant: From the Ashes)
