Swedish holding Embracer Group (THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, DECA Games, Coffee Stain, Amplifier Game Invest, Saber Interactive) announced the acquisition of the company Gearbox Entertainmentknown for creating a franchise Borderlands and publishing Godfall… The news of the deal appeared on the official website of the Embracer Group. It is estimated at up to $ 1.3 billion

Under the wing of the Embracer Group, Gearbox, a three-studio company, will become the seventh working group of the holding and will continue to function as before.

Founder of Gearbox Randy Pitchford will retain his leadership position and, along with several senior colleagues, will become a shareholder of the Embracer Group

The Swedish holding company plans not only to strengthen its position thanks to Gearbox, but also intends to use the working group to further expand in North America. In other words, he intends to continue buying studios in the US and Canada.

In parallel with Gearbox, the holding acquired a studio Aspyr media, which, according to the documentation provided, is currently working on a secret project with a budget of $ 70 million… After the entry into force of the agreement with Embracer Group, the team will operate in the group Saber Interactive

Finally, the holding also spoke about the acquisition of the studio Easybrainspecializing in puzzles for mobile platforms.
