Pre-release hysteria: Blogger banned on Twitter for criticizing Sony and Naughty Dog

Before the release of the game The Last of Us: Part II It remains literally a couple of days, however, lawyers Sony do not sleep, continuing to distribute strikes to users on social networks for everything. As a result, one of the bloggers was finally banned in Twitter.

Recall the background. After the leak of the recording of 1.5 hours of gameplay from the pre-release build of the game from the studio Naughty dog Grand cleaning began on the Web, initiated by lawyers from a company collaborating with a Japanese publishing house MUSO TNT. Claims for copyright infringement began to be received not only by those people who published spoilers, but also by lovers of memes, as well as bloggers who simply discussed the situation around the development studio, and not the plot details. Even videos that criticized Sony’s anti-free speech policy were deleted.

The founder of the portal turned out to be one of the victims. GeeksandGamers.com Jeremy Primewho received a notification of a violation right during the online stream. He shared his views on the situation in Naughty Dog, without discussing the plot details of the game.

The incident further enraged the blogger, and a wave of strikes angered him. As a result, Prime began periodically posting on Twitter the memes about The Last of Us: Part II and hashtag comments. #FuckNaughtyDog and #FuckNeilDruckmann.

However, the activity of MUSO TNT did not subside as the release of the game approached. In addition, journalists and bloggers who received The Last of Us: Part II review could not mention certain plot details in their reviews, as well as demonstrate a number of in-game locations. This is also related to the fight against spoilers.

As a result, Jeremy’s Twitter account was finally banned. Prior to this, he received complaints from Sony lawyers on posts with criticism, memes, as well as messages in which none of the above were listed. But the administration of the platform did not provide detailed reasons for the ban.

It is also impossible to say whether it is a “eternal” bathhouse or a temporary one. The incident itself was not upset by the blogger, since he had invested in updating his site in a situation where the YouTube administration was increasingly starting to resort to demonizing “inconvenient” channels.

The problem also lies in the fact that journalists, bloggers and even some gamers have already completed the game, so now detailed spoilers based on the final version have reappeared on the Web. And on June 19, all complaints about DMCA violation by Sony lawyers will lose all meaning.
