Coronavirus comes: Microsoft asked some employees not to come to work, and Sony closed offices in London and Paris

Microsoft Executive Vice President on his blog Kurt Delbene invited Seattle and San Francisco branch managers to ask employees to work remotely from home until March 25 due to the threat of the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) and to minimize the risk of infection.

In particular, Microsoft asks employees to postpone all secondary trips to Puget Sound campuses or the Bay Area, to limit the length of personal meetings and stay away from other people.

Seattle currently has the highest infection rate in the United States: 39 cases and 10 deaths. Despite the fact that no cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in San Francisco, the city announced the introduction of an emergency mode on February 26, and just a few days later there was news about the cancellation of the GDC 2023 game developers conference, which was to be held in San Francisco from March 16 to March 20 of this year. New cases of the disease continue to be recorded directly in the Los Angeles area, where the large game exhibition E3 is traditionally held.

The Japanese company Sony does not stand aside from the impact of the epidemic of the new virus. She, at least until the end of this week, temporarily closed her offices in London and Paris. Staff are also offered work from home.
