Everything on the “remote”: Microsoft is ready to allow its employees almost not to appear in offices

Company Microsoft prepares for the major internal changes needed to provide all of its employees with a comfortable working environment in the midst of a raging global pandemic. This is reported by the edition The verge

Even after most of the corporation’s offices are able to function normally, a significant part of the employees will be able, at their discretion, to cope with work duties from home, spending only 50% from working hours directly within the team

In turn, in some cases, employees will be able to apply for a full transition to “remote“, in the process losing their office space, but retaining the right to appear there and work on shared computers.

At the same time, of course, such alternatives will not be available to all specialists. Those people whose work is directly related to interacting with hardware, data centers, or improving the skills of other employees in related areas, will still have to work as usual.

Deciding on such changes, Microsoft hopes to find the right dynamics and flexibility to combine business development, as well as the convenience of its employees and their safety, while adapting to an unstable global environment.
