Electronic Arts has joined the list of companies that have refused to participate in Game Developers Conference 2023 – one of the main industrial events of the year. The management came to this decision as a result of observation of news about the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. In recent days, more and more cases of infection have been recorded outside of China.
In addition, Electronic Arts intends to limit its presence at other gaming events. No specific names.
“By carefully monitoring the global situation with coronavirus and taking into account the recent increase in the number of infected people in new regions, we decided to take additional steps to protect the health of our employees. As a result, we will cancel our official participation in GDC 2023 and limit our presence at other events. We will continue monitor the situation and we will adjust the recommendations for our employees if necessary, “the message said.

The event will be held in San Francisco from March 16 to March 20, 2023.
