CCP canceled EVE Fanfest 2023 – review

The global coronavirus epidemic continues to affect public life. Icelandic studio Ccp games announced that she would not hold her traditional annual event EVE Fanfest. This year the meeting was to be held in Reykjavik from April 2 to 4.

Developers EVE Online stated that they should show responsibility and take care of the safety of the participants in the event, studio employees and the entire population of Iceland.

We understand that in a month the situation may completely change. But a deep and serious review of how events are developing both globally and in the countries neighboring Iceland, showed that this is a necessary step.

The studio decided to announce the cancellation of the event in advance to give all participants the opportunity to make changes to their plans and minimize losses. For comparison, that spectators will not be allowed into the tournament Intel Extreme Masters in Katowice, it became known only a few hours before the start.

In the coming weeks, CCP Games promises to tell all the additional details on social networks. Most likely, all scheduled performances and announcements will move online.
