Final Fantasy XIV authors canceled festival in America – review

Square enix will not hold its traditional festival of online game fans this year Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in America. Earlier North American Fan Festival was scheduled for November 2023 and was due to take place in San Diego.

The festival organizers tried for a long time to adapt it to a difficult epidemiological situation, but in the end they came to the conclusion that they could not guarantee complete safety to guests and participants. But they are already picking up time and place for the next American fanfest: it should be held in the first half of 2023.

So far, preparations are continuing for the FFXIV festivals to be held in Japan in December 2023 and in Europe in February 2023.

As for update 5.3, which was originally scheduled for June 16, work on it continues. The studio managed to completely switch to remote work, but at the same time, productivity decreased: at the moment the team is working at 85-90% of normal.

Square Enix is doing everything it can to defer patch 5.3 as little as possible. But so far, everything has not changed: it will be released later at least a month.
