Microsoft Helps Japanese Developers Move to Remote Work

Corporation specialists Microsoft are trying to provide comprehensive support to Japanese developers in a pandemic, helping them adapt to remote work on creating games. About this in an interview with the publication Famitsu told the representative of the global technical gaming department of the corporation Junya Shimoda

According to research by journalists, it was difficult for Japanese office workers to switch to remote work in the context of the pandemic. The local corporate culture is historically based on the work of specialists in a common environment, as well as constant personal meetings between representatives of different departments and companies. In addition, Japanese office work, as a rule, implies constant interaction with papers – in a number of companies, many ordinary things have not yet been fully translated into “digital”.

As a result, the pandemic threw many studios into a stupor, as they did not understand where to start transferring to remote locations and how to adequately organize work in the new realities, especially taking into account secrecy and security.

As Shimoda noted, as part of his Microsoft initiative assists Japanese developers with learning new software, creating new digital infrastructures, leveraging artificial intelligence technologies, and accessing the Azure network cloud space.

“We are constantly looking for opportunities to create a flexible work environment suitable for independent developers,” explained Shimoda.

In addition to independent contributors, Microsoft also tries to work with major players in the Japanese market. In particular, the company received a separate mention. Bandai namco
