Microsoft has developed anti-piracy protection based on the Ethereum blockchain

Microsoft teamed up with Chinese company Alibaba and Carnegie Mellon University to create anti-piracy system Argusbased on blockchain Ethereum

Argus allows you to trace the original source of pirated content using a special digital watermarking algorithm. Moreover, the system is capable of working with any types of files: images, audio and programs.

Users who find illegal content will be able to send anonymous complaints, and for this they will receive a reward in cryptocurrency. Microsoft has also taken into account the sending of repeated messages from the same user under different nicknames and has included abuse protection in Argus.

The system is currently being tested. Argus will be presented at the end of September at the International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems.
