Chernobyl director Johan Renk will remove the pilot of the series The Last of Us for HBO

Renk is working on the series with the Chernobyl showrunner Craig Meisin and the creator of the game itself, Neil Drackmann. The latter are now busy with the scenario of the coming adaptation. When the active production of the show begins, however, is unknown.

In addition, Renk confirmed that the creators of the series constantly discuss among themselves the image of the characters in the show. Unlike “Chernobyl”, many of whose viewers did not see real personalities in the face, fans of the game already know how the characters look and behave, so moving away from their images can be fraught.

While HBO does not even name the approximate release dates for The Last of Us, but most likely this will happen no earlier than 2023.
