Screenwriter and Executive Producer, Television Adaptation The last of us for HBO channel Craig Mazin, co-written with Neil Druckmann, will co-direct the series.
Information about this is contained on the website DGC (Directors Guild of Canada) on a production list of projects currently being filmed in Alberta, Canada.
In total, the first season of The Last of Us will receive ten episodes. How many of them will be directed by Mazin himself is still unknown. Other directors of the show include Kantemir Balagov (he will shoot the pilot), Yasmila Zhbanich and Ali Abbasi. At the same time, what is interesting, also listed among DGC directors Peter Hoare, who worked on the first season of Umbrella Academy and the second season of Daredevil, although his participation has not been officially confirmed at the moment.
The production of The Last of Us will run until June 2023. The series stars Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsay (Ellie), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Nico Parker (Sarah – Joel’s daughter), Anna Torv (Tess) and others.
The release date has not yet been announced.
