Oppo is preparing its mobile processor – review

Chinese manufacturer Oppo reports that it plans to develop its own mobile processor. Leaks previously reported a system called M1, but then it was unclear whether we were talking about a full-fledged SoC or just about a coprocessor.

Now there is information about the project The Mariana Plan. Within its framework, specialists intend to develop their own solution for smartphones. The project will allocate more than 50 billion yuan for three years. Specialists also take part in the initiative. Realme and Oneplus. The technical specifications of the processor, even expected, are not yet indicated.

The number of companies producing their own processors is very limited. At the moment, only their chips are produced Samsung, Huawei and Apple. Xiaomi recently led the development, but the mass production of this processor was unsuccessful – everything was limited to one smartphone model. The same (and with the same result) was in LG.

At the same time, we note that the Chinese already have their x86 processors. And even in several ways.
