Peter Rabbit sequel release postponed for 5 months due to coronavirus

Studio Sony postponed the comedy sequel release “Rabbit Peter” from late March to August due to the threat of coronavirus.

In Europe, the tape was supposed to appear on March 27, and in the United States on April 3. But instead, the picture will now be released on August 7th. While the relocation concerns only Europe, however, most likely, the release date in the US will also change.

This is the second major move in recent times – the first was the 25th James Bond film, which will be released not in April, but in November. As last time, the decision of the studio was affected not only by fear of illness, but also by the likely financial losses associated with the epidemic.

Cinemas in China and Italy, two important movie markets, remain closed, and some other countries are pondering similar prospects. Taking into account such problems, other premieres may well move to new dates.

Although, for example, Disney has so far decided not to touch its nearest paintings, the same Mulan will be released on time.
