New part of the shooter Battlefield will still be released on Xbox one and Playstation 4despite rumors to the contrary. The information was officially confirmed by the CEO Electronic Arts Andrew Wilson during a conference call with investors regarding the publication of the report for the past financial year.
The EA chief explained that the company’s previous announcements about the “next generation” Battlefield were about gameplay characteristics, including physics, AI, player count, destruction and new features in the franchise context brought about by the increased speed and power of the new consoles.
At the same time, Wilson noted that team experience Frostbite working with the previous generation allowed to squeeze all the best out of old consoles and achieve excellent results even on pastgen… He has already seen the trailer for the new shooter and was very impressed. During the speech, the head of the company was also asked about potential plans for the annual release of Battlefield and the launch of the Battle Royale mode. Wilson said that at the moment they have nothing to announce on these issues.
CFO EA Blake Jorgensen in turn, he joined the words of his colleague, noting that the project will be excellent for both generations and even more impressive in versions for new systems.
The new Battlefield is being developed by four studios at once (DICE, Criterion, DICE LA and EA Gothenburg) and will be released in the third fiscal quarter of 2023, that is, from October to December.
