The creators of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI spoke about Portugal, which prefers trade

Creators Sid Meier’s Civilization VI in a fresh video they talked about a new state – Portugal, which will appear in the game on March 25 with the release of the add-on Portugal Pack.

The state is headed by King João III, who prefers to increase his influence not by wars, but by trade. The Leader Trait increases unit vision and trade routes each time Portugal meets a new civilization and opens the borders of all city-states.

At the same time, the country’s income from international trade routes increases significantly, although such routes can only be laid to coastal cities or settlements with a harbor. In addition, the speed of trade units, which can immediately load aboard and move through the water, has been increased.

Of course, the country’s unique unit is also associated with the sea – this is nawreplacing caravels. It is cheaper and is improved upon construction. She can also build two feitoria… These are special areas that are created on foreign cells next to a bonus or rare resource. Trade routes to cities with feitoria provide additional gold and production units.

Instead of universities, Portugal can create a navigation school that increases the speed of production of naval units and gives science for the cells of the coast or lakes in the city, as well as the points of the great naval commander.

In addition to Portugal, the upcoming set will add to the strategy the game mode “Protection from zombies”, a new script for the map “Swamps” and a couple of wonders of the world.
