Konami veteran Jay Boer transferred to Kojima Productions to lead marketing

Studio Kojima productions appointed former PR manager Konami Jay Boer new global director of marketing and communications. He worked at a Japanese publishing house from 2008 to 2019, where he was involved in North American and European relations.

At Kojima Productions, he will lead marketing and communication activities, as well as play a strategic role in expanding the studio’s presence in the global market..

Boer himself commented on his appointment with compliments towards Kojima and the Kojima Productions team. He noted that the developer’s approach to game design is not similar to any of those with which he worked in the industry..

“The gaming experience he creates defines the genre and makes you think. We will continue to expand the boundaries of the story and raise awareness of Kojima Productions in a unique way.”

According to VgcThe current Kojima Productions team is more than half comprised of former Konami employees who followed Kojima after leaving the company in 2015.
