“It’s a shame”: Remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has been compared to the original – fans didn’t like it much

The first comparisons of the graphics of the remake announced yesterday appeared on the network Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with the original game released in 2003.

An updated version of “Sands of Time” is built from scratch on the engine Anvil from Assassin’s Creed: Origins… The authors say that they completely updated the graphics, animations and rewrote the cutscenes using the motion-capture technology, but the reaction of gamers to what they saw was sharply negative… Users note that despite the Remake postscript in the title, the project visually looks very dull and cheap: plastic faces, twitchy animations, asset reuse, the absence of normal shadows and, in general, a very weak visual by the standards of 2023. In some places, the remake looks even worse than Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands released 10 years ago. On the official Ubisoft channels, the announcement trailer actively collects dislikes and tons of negative comments from fans

“It looks like they should have shown this remake back in 2010, but they only remembered about it now.”

Ubisoft keeps the bar like shit always. “

“It’s good that the release is in 2023, they’ll have time to remake the remake.”

“Thanks to Ubisoft for keeping the old graphics vibe in the remake.”

“The prince rewarded time and took us back to the era of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.”

“This is some kind of shame.”

“So this is what Ubisoft AAAA projects now look like, my compliments.”

“Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands looks much better. The game is already 10 years old.”

Indian studios are responsible for the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – Remake Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft mumba

The project will be released on January 21st on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Owners of Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5 will be able to play with backward compatibility.
