Coronavirus Pandemic – Golden Times for the Gaming Industry – review

While the world is paralyzed by quarantine and fear, and the economy suffers gigantic losses, some industries may rightly consider the pandemic a golden time. In particular, delivery services do not complain of decline.

Polish studio Carbon I am sure that the pandemic contributes to the heyday of the gaming industry, in particular, entertainment for virtual reality. Even employees themselves began to use VR devices more often: with their help they now hold general meetings.
We are experiencing the golden days of VR. Of course, the situation is serious, and we treat it with great humility, but in the field of game sales we are seeing a growth trend around the world.

Demand for VR equipment is already higher than supply. Almost all helmets are completely sold out. People cannot meet in the real world, so they transfer joint activities into virtual reality.

Headset orders outperform manufacturers, making VR apps more and more popular. And recognized Carbon Studio games show higher sales, especially in the Asian region.

Studio debut project, Alice vr, was met rather coolly, its average rating is 55%. The game The wizards was much more successful. According to the studio, a mini-kit from an improved edition of the game and spin-off Trials of meliora bought more than 100 thousand players.

New work of the Polish studio, The wizards: dark times, originally planned as an addition. But now the project has grown into a full-fledged game, its budget has been raised from 50 to 120 thousand dollars. At the same time, developers are working on a VR-game based on Warhammer: age of sigmar.
