Capcom Pledges To Improve Resident Evil Village On PC After Detecting DRM Impact

Capcom is working on an official update for Resident evil villagewhich will increase the performance of the PC version. The company promises to share the details in the near future. In the meantime, let us recall how it all began.

A fan patch was released last week that disabled anti-piracy protection and improved the speed of the game. Technical analysis by Digital Foundry staff revealed significant performance gains achieved by removing the Denuvo system from Resident Evil Village.

It should be noted that the technology of protection against unauthorized access has long been criticized by players for the increased consumption of resources. Users speculate that Denuvo files are putting additional strain on the processor, thereby negatively impacting performance and frame rates.

“By removing what hackers call Capcom entry points for DRM … the game transforms completely into [определённых] areas, ”writes DF editor Richard Leadbetter.

“Basically, the hacked version of the game solves the main performance issues we faced at launch that Capcom didn’t fix in two months.”

Representatives of the publisher were quick to respond to the publication and said that the company is working on an update that will fix the problems identified during testing.

“The team is working on a patch to address performance issues on the PC, an update will be available shortly,” the company said.

Resident Evil Village was released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Google Stadia and PC in May.
