2011 found footage of canceled restart of Prince of Persia from 2011 – review

Users found frames on YouTube Prince of Persia: Redemption – the canceled restart of the cult series, on which in 2012 worked Ubisoft montreal.

In a 3-minute video, the protagonist runs through a crumbling city, periodically battling unusual creatures that vaguely resemble sand monsters from The sands of time.

The Prince’s left hand seemed to be somehow connected with the sands, so that the hero could unwind time and interact with the essence of enemies. Apparently, Ubisoft wanted to restart the Sands of Time.

It’s much more interesting that the trailer was published back in March 2012, and in 2018 the assistant technical director Ubisoft montreal wrote in the comments: “Where did you get this?”

In addition, the project is mentioned in the summary of level designer Christophe Preloth: he created a collapsing level (Persian city) with many scripts, a number of backdrops and the like. Now he does not work in Ubisoft.
