Introduces the world’s first 8 TB SSM NVMe – review

Sabrent introduced the drive Rocket q, which is the world’s first SSD format M.2 with support for NVMe and a capacity of 8 TB. The novelty is based on memory Micron 3D QLC and controller Phison e12s.

Speed parameters are not given, however, the manufacturer mentioned that the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface is used, as in the 4 TB model. And there, sequential read and write performance is 3.4 and 3 Gb / s. For random operations, the parameters are 490,000 and 680,000 IOPS, respectively (again, according to the 4 TB model).

There is no data on the price, release date and resource of Sabrent Rocket Q yet, however, it is obvious that the cost of such a drive will be great, despite even the QLC memory.

MTBF is 1.8 million hours. Drives will receive a five-year warranty.
