World’s first 4TB SSD PCIe 4.0 introduced – Gaming

In May the company Sabrent unveiled the world’s first SSD in the M.2 form factor with a capacity of 8 TB and support for the NVMe protocol. Now it has introduced the 4TB Rocket Q4 PCIe 4.0 drive.

The novelty provides speeds up to 4900 MB / s for reading and up to 3500 MB / s for writing. Of course, these are the indicators for the connection on PCIe 4.0. In the third version of the interface, the indicators do not exceed 3300 MB / s for reading / writing.

There is no data on the controller yet, but the type of memory is known – QLC NAND. SMART and TRIM functions are supported, there are APST, ASPM and L1.2 energy control systems. Several wear control systems have also been announced to extend the life of the drive.

The SSD is sold in versions without a radiator ($ 750, or almost 54 thousand rubles at the rate excluding taxes) and with a radiator ($ 770 or over 55 thousand rubles). In this case, it is better to pay for cooling, since without it the drive will get too hot and lose performance.
