Fewer re-releases, more new games: Blizzard Entertainment talks about plans for the future

In foreseeable future Blizzard Entertainment will focus on creating brand new games. Relevant information in an interview with the publication CNET shared Jay Allen Brack, the current head of the company.

After the announcement Diablo II: Resurrected, an updated version of the cult role-playing game, Brack stated that in the catalog Blizzard there are virtually no games left to be remastered. In this regard, the company is going to focus on completely new developments, without being distracted by reprints.

“It is fair to say that there are no more candidates for reissue in our catalog. Therefore, in the future, the focus will shift to new projects.

Before we released the game, several updates for it and moved on. Now the world has changed – we live in the reality of constant online support. Production cycles have become longer, development teams have become larger, and the development requirements for released games have also increased significantly. In general, the release of a new project has become a much more laborious task.

But despite this, I can say directly – we are very busy with active work. Our specialists are already engaged in the creation of completely new games, completely new types of games, “- says the President of Blizzard Entertainment.

Let us remind you that today Blizzard Entertainment is developing Diablo iv and shooter Overwatch 2… Both projects do not even have an estimated release date yet.
