Tom Clancy didn’t help: Ubisoft closes the mobile game Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad

French publishing house Ubisoft made a decision to close the mobile F2P game Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad… The information appeared on the official website of the project.

The game was launched in August 2023. The gameplay of Elite Squad was made in the spirit of RAID: Shadow Legends and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes… The player conditionally “controlled” a hero squad on the battlefield, into which it was possible to hire characters from Rainbow six, Ghost recon, The division, Splinter cell, H.A.W.X… and EndWar.

However, the audience was not interested in the Ubisoft project. At the same time, Elite Squad managed to provoke several scandals.

So, the local group of terrorists UMBRA used symbols BLM-movement, so angry activists attacked the French publishing house. It also turned out that the development studio Owlient led Charlie Guillemot – son of the head of Ubisoft Yves Guillemotappointed to a post of responsibility immediately after completing his postgraduate studies.

In May 2023, Charlie Guieimo and the second head of the team Remy Pellerin quit. And this week it was announced that the Elite Squad servers will be shutdown in October 2023.
