The Last Guardian made a huge leap in performance on the PlayStation 5

backward compatibility Playstation 5 does work with PS4 and, as it turned out, even better than expected. In most games, due to the increased power, a more stable, and in some cases, a higher frame rate is achieved.

The latter is applicable for Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima, which received 60 FPS patches, as well as games where there is no frame rate limit, for example, The last guardian

NX Gamer tested Fumito Ueda’s adventure games on PlayStation 5 and was surprised to find that the game now works with stable 60 FPS… However, there is one catch: this is only possible with an unpatched disk version, since already in the first update, the developers blocked the game at 30 frames per second. That is, if you’ve been waiting for 60 FPS in The Last Guardian for a long time, then you will need a PS5 and a physical copy of the game. Just don’t install any updates for it, and then you will get double the frame rate.

Unfortunately, this trick will not work with the digital version, since all updates will be automatically loaded along with the game. Hopefully, Sony will someday optimize The Last Guardian for new hardware.
