The Clone Wars “revealed the consequences of Order 66 – review

Today the penultimate episode of the animated series went on air Star Wars: The Clone Wars entitled “Broken”which demonstrated how on Ahsoku and Darth Maul influenced by order 66.

The following are the spoilers for the latest episodes of the animated series.

The new series is part of the final storyline The Siege of Mandalore which doesn’t just bring the animated series to Revenge of the Sith but also unfolds parallel to the plot of the film.

After the last episode, Ahsoka defeated Darth Maul in a duel on Mandalore, he is captured, and the characters go with him to the capital of the Republic – Coruscant. Previously, Maul told Ahsoka that it was her former teacher Anakin Skywalker will change the balance of power in the galaxy, but she did not believe him.

Ahsoki Duel with Maul

Parallel to these disassemblies Obi-Wan runs into the general Grievous on the Utapau, and the Jedi Council decides to openly oppose the Chancellor Palpatinewho actually seized all the power in his own hands.

When a ship with Ahsoka, Maul and Rexom flies through hyperspace, she feels the indignation in the Force caused by the events in Palpatine’s office, when Anakin came to the aid of the chancellor – killing Mace Windu and becoming a student of the future Emperor.

Soon after, Rex, like the other clones, receives from Palpatine order 66, which they unquestioningly carry out because of the chip that he implanted during creation. This order, as you know, demanded that the clones open a hunt for the Jedi, destroying them all.

Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith

Most knights did not expect such a betrayal, dying at the hands of those with whom they had literally recently fought before.

In the animated series, Rex tried to resist the order, but in the end he still attacked Ahsoku along with other clones – although he managed to mention the clone nicknamed “Five”who revealed the story of the plot before.

Order 66 in the animated series

Ahsoka manages to escape, and in the process she specifically releases Darth Maul, using him as a distraction. Later in the episode there is a scene reminiscent of a famous moment with Darth Vader of Outcast Onewhen he goes down the hall.

Now, however, Mol got his own version of this scene.

As a result, Asoka with the help of droids manages to save Rex from the chip, and in the scene there is again a reference Outcast One, when one of the characters in the tape chanted a mantra “Strength flows within me, I am one with strength.” In this case, Ahsoka does it.

The episode ends with Rex telling Asoka about the fate of the Jedi and clones. The latter at the same time make their way to them with guns at the ready.

Interestingly, the cartoon version is somewhat different from the description of the events that were told in the novel about the heroine, released several years ago.

According to the old version, Rex and several other clones removed their chips, so they did not respond to the same order, and it was given at the moment when the characters were still on Mandalore. Later, Ahsoka and Rex simulated their deaths and even built a “burial place”, hiding from the forces of the Empire now.

Despite the fact that the events of the Clone Wars actually came to an end, the animated series will have another final episode, the release of which will take place already May 4th, on the day of Star Wars.
