Sony is developing a series about the hero of the 1930s Doc Savage – review

Sony Pictures Television Launches Pro Series Doc Savage – A popular hero of the inter-author series of books and comics of the 30s.

The hero first appeared on the pages of magazines in 1933 – its creators were inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan. Savage is endowed with typical characteristics of similar stories of that period: excellent physical form, high intelligence and the desire to fight injustice in all its manifestations.

The hero, like his many compatriot characters (Shadow, Green Hornet, etc.), later served as a prototype for a number of superheroes. In particular, Stan Lee himself mentioned the importance of Savage.

The last time the hero’s story was adapted in the 1975 film. Plans to create a new picture arose in 2013, the script for her was to write Shane Black (“Lethal Weapon”), and they were going to give the role of Savage Dwayne johnson.

However, nothing came of this story, and this is why the project was decided to be remade for a television format. Another reason can be a huge number of stories created with the participation of this character. He fought secret societies, megalomaniacs, and even dinosaurs.
