Since 2018,the European Federation of Interactive Software ( ISFE ) and B2Boost have begun publishing common game charts for sales in the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
While it is based on information not from all countries and not from all publishers, but the list of participants is actively expanding, so that the charts can give some idea of the preferences of the audience in the region.
Usually, according to the EMEA sector, the charts are published in four categories :
- Digital (compiled on the basis of sales in digital shops)
- Boxed – individual (versions of multiplatform games are considered separately)
- Digital + boxed – individual (the sales of games in retail and digital format are added, but different versions of multiplatform games are listed separately)
- Digital + boxed – generic (the sales of games in retail and digital format are added, versions of multiplatform products are considered together).
As the publication GamesIndustry.biz informs, following the results of the 28th week of 2018, the role-playing game Octopath Traveler.
Created exclusively for Nintendo Switch, started on the first place of the individual boxed European chart and the second general digital + box top.
In the latter, it came exclusively on the basis of sales figures in retail – Nintendo does not share ISFE information about the digital segment.
Insider Bruno MB writes that the new game Square Enix is much more popular than Bravely Default across Europe.
