Having made sure that my level of awareness does not end with the ax and armor recipes, he began to do his best to drag me into Minecraft for a long time. To be honest, I didn’t really want to: the classic “sandbox” I explored up and down ten years ago, plus the need to babysit a child less intelligent at play – a so-so prospect for rare free evenings. The solution to this problem came by itself: modifications!
Mods in any game help to diversify the gameplay and make it sparkle with new colors. In Minecraft, mods are literally a religion, and I have remembered this since the days of “vanilla”. For a long time, modding was the only way to diversify the gameplay, as Mojang released updates incredibly rarely. Now the support from developers is much better, but modders do not sleep, making their masterpieces.
Hearing the whispers of disgruntled fans of games of other genres, who do not understand why Minecraft exists, because it has neither a plot nor a rating ladder, I hasten to note: this article will also focus on mods that add meaning to the game. In fact, some of them turn the title from a “sandbox” in which the gamer is left to himself and has fun as he pleases, into a classic RPG with clearly defined tasks. If your “fu, Minecraft” was connected only with the fact that the game apparently has nothing to do, then the problem can be solved. The rest – my condolences (just kidding, just play what you like).
Twilight Forest – a mod that will sink into your soul
I got acquainted with the Twilight Forest mod ten years ago and was not at all disappointed, having downloaded it again before writing the article, since since the release it has become even cooler. The developers continue to release the latest versions, the last update was released in May. The Twilight Forest mod is a game within a game. Usually, only portals to Hell and to the Dragon are available to Minecraft users, but after installing the Twilight Forest files, another dimension appears – the Dusk Forest itself. The authors described the modification as follows:

By the way, ten years ago I was just picking at the foot of its walls to get to the final boss, and I didn’t pay any attention to this beauty, obsessed only with loot. Don’t do that – there really is something to see!

My friends were smarter, so they were able to solve the mystery of the forest, went through the maze, killed the Hydra and generally fought the enemies in a more heroic way. My “ingenious” approach also worked in the end, but it was dishonorable. To be honest, Twilight Forest is a kind of role-playing game in the spirit of DnD, but without a leader and rules. Recently, the construction of cities in Russia and the CIS in Minecraft has become popular among schoolchildren. Some build entire cities of their small homeland, others confine themselves to majestic monuments and central squares. Normal Creative isn’t always the case for this, as the original Minecraft physics and textures leave a lot to be desired. Sure, you can try your luck and waste a lot of nerves in classic creative mode, but the aesthetics will definitely suffer from this.
