Call of Duty: Warzone gets 120 FPS on Xbox Series X, but not on PlayStation 5

Shooter Call of Duty: Warzone now works in 120 FPS on Xbox series x… Apparently, support for increased frame rates was brought in with the patch released this week, but neither the update note nor the developers’ social networks mention this.

Warzone pre-testing on Series X from Digital foundry confirmed that the game now reaches 120 FPS on the new Microsoft console. On average, the frame rate is kept at the level of 100-120 frames per second

In this case, the version of Call of Duty: Warzone for Playstation 5 I didn’t get such joy. DF ran multiple tests and all confirmed the game was still running at 60fps… Given that Warzone is currently launching on PS5 for backward compatibility with PlayStation 4, perhaps the developers are waiting for a full port to be released to add 120fps to Sony’s new console.

On December 10th Activision will integrate Call of Duty: Warzone into Black Ops: Cold War… Perhaps then the battle royale will be fully optimized for nextgen and will receive 120 FPS on both consoles, especially considering that Cold War has such an option on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
