block annoying notifications and reduce power consumption – review

Despite the problems with the increasing load on the processor, Google released a major update to the Chrome browser at number 84. In this release, the main innovation was the automatic blocking of annoying and fraudulent notifications from sites.

From now on, if a particular resource is “spammed” with messages, the system will block and display an icon in the address bar on the PC or a small notification in the mobile version of the browser. After all, these messages are often used to redirect users to other sites.

In addition, the browser will now warn of suspicious .exe and .apk executable files. It will also reduce cookie collection to increase user privacy.

If the browser window is closed, the system will now consume less power, and two-factor authorization codes will be entered automatically. We also note the improvement in web animations and shortcuts for progressive web applications.

Browser update is available on all platforms.
