Genshin Impact – China’s Zelda Clone has recouped development and marketing costs in less than two weeks after launch

Renowned analyst Daniel Ahmad reported on twitter that shareware role-playing game Genshin Impact less than two weeks after the launch, it has already brought its creators $ 100 million, thus fully reclaiming the project’s production budget. If we assume that the game would have asked for $ 60, then its circulation would have exceeded 1.6 million copies.

China, Japan, Korea and the USA brought the most money to the piggy bank. Ahmad, now no doubt, called the game the most successful example of an original IP launch from Chinese developers.

According to analytical service Sensor Tower, in the first week after the launch, the game became the second most profitable project in the world on the iOS platform. As reported App Annie, in the first seven days on iOS and Android it was downloaded over 23 million times.

The increased interest of players is mainly due to the distribution model (F2P), immersiveness (deep game mechanics, open world), high-quality study (graphics and storyline) and availability on several platforms (PS4, PC and mobile OS).

A Nintendo Switch version of the RPG is currently being prepared. Its release date has not yet been announced.
