Ubisoft Introduces Hyper Scape – Battle Royale with Modifiers – review

Ubisoft officially introduced Hyper scape – a futuristic royal battle, the testing of which began a couple of hours before the formal announcement.

Of the traditional elements of the genre, perhaps the number of players in a single match can be no more than 100 people. Then the differences begin.

In terms of dynamics, the shooter is more like a hybrid Dishonored and Quake, since the players will have to actively move around the map and climb up the hill thanks to including local trampolines. The one who will stop, most likely, will not last long.

In addition to the traditional conditions for victory, survival to the last, one more is added – in the final battle appears on the map gold Crown. If someone can capture her for 45 seconds, he will win.

Hyper Scape also abandoned inventory, armor and vehicles, and one of the distinguishing features will be hacks – these are active skills that are scattered across the map. They can be changed, and when a copy is found, they improve. Similarly with weapons.

In addition, developers took the path Apex legends and Call of Duty: Warzoneadding to your royal battle resurrection: after death, the hero becomes an invisible ghost who can freely study the map in search of enemies.

If one of the opponents dies, a special portal appears in its place, thanks to which the Allies can return the fallen comrade to battle.

The latest key innovation for the genre will be “Events“Is a kind of modifier that the local director randomly selects. This is where integration with Twitch: if someone streams the game in a match, then the audience will have the opportunity to choose the next modification, among which, for example, zero gravity or endless ammunition.

Now the game is undergoing closed testing, which is not available in Russia. Then, on July 12, an open beta will begin on PC, and at the end of the year, a full release on PS4, Xbox One and PC will take place. And later on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
