Fans Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone among the owners of the Xbox One console today are faced with the need to download an impressive amount of update – 84GB.
The thing is that in the morning the fourth season started in the shooter Infinity Ward, and the developers had previously warned that its size would be large. But no one expected such volumes.
According to official information, the weight of the patch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One was supposed to be 45, 32 and 44GB, respectively. However, in fact, some owners of the Microsoft console had to download from the network twice as much as the declared volume. The reaction of the gamers to this turned out to be extremely negative, and the 84GB hashtag even got on Twitter trends around the world.
Users wrote that they had to remove one or even several games from the console just to download the update for the Activision shooter.

In turn, the publisher Activision carefully examines the problem, but, apparently, in the case of the Xbox One we are talking about a trivial error. True, players from such statements is not easier.

Infinity Ward continues to experience increasing pressure from the fan community due to the enormous amount of data that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone occupies on console hard drives, as well as huge updates. For example, Before the fourth season update, the full version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PS4 required 190.1 GB of free space.
In a series of yesterday’s tweets, Infinity Ward Community Manager Ashton williams said the team is reducing the total disk space used by Modern Warfare and Warzone using compressed assets. This means that after installation, the fourth season update will add only 4GB to the volume of the installed game.
Williams also pointed out to console players the ability to remove unused modes. However, for the PC version of this option is not provided.
According to him, Infinity Ward continues to make every effort to reduce the size, where possible, and optimize future patches. Let’s hope that the team again does not step on the same rake.
