The new character of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare turned out to be a real veteran who fled from Vietnam to the USA

In the third season Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Two new operators appeared: Alex and Ronin. It turned out that the latter is based on a real soldier, and he is the first character in the series, which was modeled on the basis of a real veteran.

Ronin is based on a man named Tu Lam, who escaped from communist Vietnam in 1979 in a fishing boat. As a result, he ended up in the United States of America, where he joined the US Army and was assigned to the Special Forces detachment. Tu Lam served for 23 years and visited 27 countries before leaving the service in 2016 with the rank of master sergeant.

Retired, Lam began selling army equipment to U.S. citizens in a company called Ronin tactics. According to the veteran, the franchise Call of duty loved by military personnel who play it to boost morale.
