The Last of Us: Part II was due out today – review

The Last of Us: Part II will be released almost exactly 7 years after the first part, which appeared on store shelves on June 14, 2013.

Moreover, the franchise will again “close” the generation: as 7 years ago, the sequel will be one of the last major releases of Sony for its console. After Naughty Dog this time, however, will not be new Gran turismo, a Ghost of tushusha from Sucker Punch.

It is noteworthy that the author of “One of Us” Neil Drakmann also did not pass by the previously announced release date of the game.

Something is missing today … I really can’t understand what exactly …

In recent years, the first half of the year has become the “new autumn”: publishers have ceased to be afraid to release large games at this time, and not in the traditionally more monetary autumn period.

However, 2023 clearly breaks out of this trend: this time there are much fewer major releases: between the next blockbusters – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15) and Doom eternal (March 20) – more than four months.

And after the shooter id Software releases are not very many – until the end of spring we are waiting for only:

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 20th of March
  • Half-Life: Alyx – March 23
  • remake Resident evil 3 – April 3
  • remake Final Fantasy VII – April 10th
  • The Last of Us: Part II – May 29.

Among the smaller releases can still be noted Ori and the Will of the Wisps (March 11th), Nioh 2 (March 13), Bleeding edge (March 24), Persona 5 royal (March 31), Gears tactics (April 28) Minecraft dungeons (April) and Wasteland 3 (May 19).

Who knows what the fall release lineup will look like without the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
