Company Sony posted on PlayStation Blog about backward compatibility of games with PlayStation 4 on Playstation 5, in which she supplemented the information that appeared earlier today with new details…
- More than 99% of PS4 games will be available on PlayStation 5 launch day, including Ghost of tsushima, The Last of Us: Part II and all other Naughty Dog games available on the current generation.
- When logging into a PSN account on PlayStation 5, users will automatically see their PS4 game content library in the console menu.
- Certain backward compatible PS4 games will load faster on PlayStation 5 and will receive feature support Game Boostincreasing FPS… In addition, certain games with unlocked frame rates or resolutions up to 4K will also see improved picture quality.
- Part of backward compatible games will get access to new functions of the PS5 interfacewhich the company will talk about later.
- PlayStation VR games on PS4 are also supported for backward compatibility on PlayStation 5. To run, you need a PSVR headset, DualShock 4 / PlayStation Move and PlayStation Camera. New HD camera for PS5 is not compatible with PSVR – to use a helmet on PlayStation 5 you need an old-style camera connected via an adapter (no additional purchase required).
- All backward compatible games included with PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions will be available to play on PlayStation 5.
- Remote Play is supported by backward compatible games;
- Games and save files installed on the console can be transferred from PS4 to PS5 via LAN cable or Wi-Fi. If games and saves were stored on external storage, then they can be transferred to the PS5 by connecting the drive directly to the console via USB. PS Plus subscribers will be able to sync saves through the “cloud”;
Sony also confirmed that the ability to transfer saves between the PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game added by developers’ decision and may not be available in separate projects for both generations of consoles…
