Remedy reported record financial results for 2023. Despite the lack of new games, revenues grew by 30% to 41.1 million euros, and operating income almost doubled compared to 2019, to 13.2 million euros.
Continued support contributed to the success Control… Last year, the game received two story add-ons, was released on Steam, GOG and Nintendo Switch, and was also added to the Xbox Game Pass library. In December, it became known that Control’s circulation exceeded 2 million copies.
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala noted that the studio will continue to support Control, but its development team is gradually moving to work on a new game.
The studio is currently working on a story campaign for CrossfireX, as well as over a shareware multiplayer game-service Vanguard…
In addition, Remedy has partnered with Epic Games, which finances and publishes two of the studio’s games for consoles and PCs. It will be an AAA game and a smaller project.
In total, almost 100 people work on joint projects with Epic Games. The smaller game is already in full-scale production, while full-scale AAA production is slated to launch this spring.
By 2025, Remedy hopes to have several successful games and at least one major hit, and at least three successful, growing games brands with long-term hit potential.
