PS5 in January broke the US sales record of 2009 – NPD report

NPD Group published a report on the American market for the past January – in a month consumers spent 4.7 billion dollars on products of the gaming industry, which is 42% more than last year.

Console sales for the year were up 144% to $ 319 million. The Nintendo Switch sold the most, breaking the January 2010 Wii record, while the PS5 became the leader in money turnover, breaking the January 2009 Wii record.

The leader among the games remained Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which in just three months has already entered the twenty best-selling games in the history of the market. The second and third places of the January chart are occupied by Assassin’s creed valhalla and “Spider-Man: Miles Morales“.

But Cyberpunk 2077 in a month fell from 2nd to 18th place. But CD Projekt does not disclose the sale of games in digital stores – and do not forget that the game has been unavailable for purchase on the PlayStation Store for almost two months.
