Recently Square enix announced Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but after the publisher clarified the information about the new release.
In 2018 Dragon quest xi successfully released on PS4 and PC, and a year later the extended version made it to the Nintendo Switch. The developers had to simplify the graphics, but in return, players got more story content and a 2D mode based on the Nintendo 3DS version.
As a result, on December 4, this extended version will reach large platforms, but two unpleasant details are associated with the release at once. For starters, owners of the original on PS4 and PC will have to buy the DQ XI S again.
And secondly, Dragon Quest XI S on PS4, Xbox One and PC is based on the version for Nintendo Switch, which they do not plan to improve – in fact, an extended edition with worse graphics will be released in December than in the original release on PS4 and PC.
However, Square Enix promises that the resolution and frame rate of the extended version on PS4 “will be at least as good as” what was in the original release on PS4.
