Nvidia completes beta testing of GeForce Now – cloud gaming platform fully launched

Company Nvidia announced today that after more than two years, the cloud gaming service is leaving beta testing GeForce Now. The manufacturer of graphic solutions summed up some of the results of this phase: about 300,000 beta testers downloaded over 70 million hours of gameplay to their devices in 30 countries of Europe and North America.

GeForce Now offer gamers two plans: free and paid. In the first case, players will be offered standard access to the servers (it will probably take some time to connect to the servers) and game sessions lasting up to one hour (there are no restrictions on the number of sessions). A premium plan called Founders It will provide priority access to the cloud platform servers, an extended gaming session up to six hours, and access to games that support ray tracing.

The first three months of access to the Founders plan will be free of charge, while the regular monthly fee by the end of this year will be $ 4.99 per month. In 2023, the price may well change for the better.

As for platform support, GeForce Now will work on PC, Mac, branded devices SHIELD from NVIDIA, Android smartphones. Owners of the Chromebook line of laptops will be able to test the service before the end of this year. To use the service, you will need an Internet connection with a speed of 15 Mbps. Recommended speed is 25 Mbps.

NVIDIA offers users of its cloud gaming platform more than 30 shareware games, hundreds of games from 50 different publishers and more than a thousand projects that can be played using “single-session installations” on Steam. The library is updated in the cloud, so you can get instant access to games. In addition, gamers will be able to add storefronts from existing digital stores such as Steam.

NVIDIA said the game library will be updated based on information from players and publishers. In other words, if you want a game, you must ask for it.

In Russia, its own version of GeForce Now, GFN.RU, was previously launched. Back in December, we tested it and devoted a lot of material to it, which you can find at this link.

The Nvidia press service said that as part of updating the global version of GeForce Now, innovations were received by the Russian one. In particular, GFN also has ray tracing in games. True, so far only a few: Metro: Exodus, Wolfenstein: Young Blood, Deliver us the Moon and MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries.
