Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be released without part of the content – one of the add-ons was forever lost

Collection Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, in addition to technical improvements, will offer all the basic single content from the games of the original trilogy and over 40 additions released to them, however, as the developers later clarified in a conversation with the publication GameInformer, the upcoming remaster meeting will be missing one DLC

It’s about expansion Pinnacle stationadding to the first part Mass effect a training station with several maps and training scenarios to hone combat skills for about 2-3 hours of play.

DLC was made by an external team Demiurge Studios, which a few years ago for unknown reasons lost the add-on source code. For the same reason, Pinnacle Station was absent from the original PS3 Mass Effect, but when it came to developing remasters, BioWare decided to make another attempt to reclaim the lost code. The studio contacted the Demiurge office and they even found backups, but almost all of them contained corrupted data, and some extremely important links were missing at all.

According to the game director Mac Walters, the only option to include Pinnacle Station in the Legendary Edition was to build it entirely from scratch. It would have taken another six full months with almost the entire Legendary Edition development team, which the studio considered irrational.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be released May 14 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One.
