Already on October 7 starts The International 10 (2023), which will feature 18 of the strongest teams from around the world. Many of the participants will find themselves at the main Dota 2 tournament of the year for the first time. And since there are newcomers, it means that there was no place for one of the veterans of the esports scene. Therefore, Cybersport.ru invites you to recall the brightest, titled and simply beloved by fans doters, who this time will not be at TI. An interrupted tradition Kuro KuroKy Salehi Takhasomi, failure of former players PSG.LGD and stubborn Jackie EternaLEnVy Mao – in our material.

Of course, there are more cool and illustrious players that many fans will miss during TI10 than our list can hold. Therefore, we drew attention to those who attended at least one of the last two The International and did not manage to finish their careers before 2023. So conditional Dendi or UNiVeRsE will not be on the list – but they still remain in our hearts!
XNova and Chalice
Jian Wei xNova Yap and Yang Chalice Shenyi represented PSG.LGD at the last two The International. In 2018, they became vice-champions as part of the team, and in 2019 they settled on the third line. Despite the fact that the team did not manage to conquer Aegis, the community still considered PSG.LGD to be almost the strongest team in the world during this period. However, the roster did not survive the online era. Problems started almost immediately: unstable results, withdrawal Ame and the lack of a decent alternative, which forced Chalice to move to carry, affected the state of the squad. In the summer of 2023, the team never even managed to get into the top 3 in the online championships in their region. As a result, at the beginning of September of the same year, PSG.LGD first left Lu Somnus 丶 M Yao and Xu fy linsenand then xNova with Chalice.
And if Somnus 丶 M and fy switched to Elephant, we will see at The International, but for xNova and Chalice after PSG.LGD things, to put it mildly, did not work out. Both players went to EHOME Is a famous tag with a glorious history that has never been able to cope with the competition in China. The team could not qualify for the majors, and at regional tournaments it was always hanging out in the middle of the table. In the qualifiers for TI10, the team took second place, losing in the final to Elephant with a score of 1: 3. After that, xNova and Chalice left the roster and now at TI10 they will only worry about their former teammates.
Ppd
In matches at The International 10, there will certainly be a lack of salt. After all, how else if the main wits of the esports scene misses the tournament this year? Ppd has made five TIs in total throughout his career, finishing third twice and lifting Aegis in 2015. Even after leaving EG, Daguerre was able to qualify for the main tournament of the year two more times, collecting his lineups. He managed to bring OpTic Gaming with zai and Pajkatt to the top-8, and NiP … well, not leaving the group, of course, is not a result to be proud of, but ppd in that roster was able to reveal the potential of 33.
After the failure at TI9, Daguerre tried to fund NiP by collecting a new roster with Daxak, but with the onset of the online era, the team began to have problems. As a result, ppd retired in the spring of 2023. After that, he tried himself as an Alliance coach and could well have been at TI10 with the team, but the club parted ways with Daguerre. Valve called ppd in as an analyst, but we will definitely not see him in the gaming booth.
Ana and JerAx
We are all used to long vacations Anatana ana Fama, because they knew that before TI he would burst onto the professional stage again and show the class. However, Fam’s comeback during the second season of the DPC turned out to be a disappointing failure. As sad as it was for OG fans to admit it, it turned out that ana is not the same. Therefore, without waiting for the closed qualifiers at TI10, he left the team and ended his playing career.
In total, ana has been at TI three times, making it to the top 8 in 2017 and winning in 2018 and 2019. Once he was one of the most criticized carries of The International, in 2018 the Russian-speaking analyst studio generally called him almost the weakest core in the playoffs. However, at a longer distance, ana proved everything with his play, so at TI10 we will miss his fountain dives on Io and Ember Spirit.
Esse JerAx Vainikka, perhaps, the best “four” in the history of The International, which, as you know, should never be given away Rubick, Earthshaker, Earth Spirit, Tusk, Tiny and a dozen other characters. And it’s good that we will remember it just like that. JerAx announced his retirement in early 2023 and, unlike ana, did not break his word.
Sccc
The Vice-champion of The International 2017 and once the most promising mid lane in the world looks more and more dull every year. In 2018 Song Sccc Chun as part of Newbee He was eliminated from TI in the first playoff match, losing to Winstrike, and the next year he did not qualify for The International in Shanghai at all. It seemed that after such a black streak, things began to improve: after TI9, the esportsman finally moved to the carry position and moved to Team Aster, which showed a good game and got to the canceled Major in Los Angeles. But then everything went downhill again: the results of the team began to deteriorate, and Sccc himself soon left it. After that, he joined EHOME, but only played for a couple of months.
Now Sccc is without a team, but at the same time continues to actively play Dota 2 – he quite often takes the first place among e-sportsmen in terms of the number of matches per week. Sccc is already 27 years old, there is not a trace left of the status of a young and promising mid lane, but it’s still a bit of a pity that we will no longer see him tearing apart opponents on Shadow Fiend or Sniper.
Faith
Zeng Faith Hunda – 2012 The International Champion as part of Invictus Gaming and vice-champion of The International 2017. In total, he attended seven tournaments in the series (most recently in 2018 with Newbee). Unlike Sccc, Faith continued to play for Newbee after TI9, albeit relatively unsuccessfully. After that, the esportsman tried himself as a coach, but soon his esports career was overnight: in January 2023, Valve issued a lifetime ban to Faith and his former Newbee teammates from official tournaments for participating in fake matches. At the same time, the Chinese Dota 2 association also disowned the players, so the TI champion’s path to the professional scene is now closed forever. So we won’t see Faith not only at The International 10, but also at any other tournaments.
EternaLEnVy
Jackie EternaLEnVy Mao Is one of the most memorable and controversial players on the professional scene. He always skillfully balanced between ingenious solutions and fantastically ridiculous mistakes. But over the years, the balance was upset, and one of the components of this formula began to prevail over the other, which could not but affect the results of the esports player.
EternaLEnVy is already 30 years old, and during his career he visited five Internationals – Mao showed his best result in 2014 as part of Cloud9, when he was able to enter the top 6 and knocked out NAVI along the way. Failures do not stop the Canadian esportsman: after losing another tournament or leaving the qualifiers, he begins to collect a new roster in a week. Therefore, listing all the stacks that Mao has played for over the past two years is simply pointless. EternaLEnVy remains true to himself: he still carries the burden of the first position and is still experimenting with assemblies. And perhaps his trademark madness will really be missed at TI10.
Mushi
Mushi Yeo Fun Teais definitely a Dota 2 legend in Southeast Asia. He participated in six The Internationals and during this time became the bronze medalist of TI3, and also finished fourth in the roster Team DK at TI4, although at that tournament his team was considered the favorite. Carrie, who knows a lot about farming and understands perfectly well that forest creeps are much more important than helping dying teammates, – this is how Mushi fans of Dota 2 remembered. And his Anti-Mage game … how many pleasant memories (for everyone except his rivals).
The last time he played at The International as a player was in 2018, and the next year he came to the tournament as a coach. However, Mushi did not abandon attempts to return to a high level and was actively looking for a suitable lineup. Now the once formidable carry plays on the “five”. His last command was Team SMGwhich MidOne stands for. For her, Mushi did not play for long and soon returned to the role of a coach, becoming a mentor TNC Predator… He had every chance to go to Bucharest, because his new team was the favorite in the qualifiers in Southeast Asia. However, in a dramatic final, TNC lost 2: 3 to Fnatic, and Mushi was left without his seventh The International.
MISERY
Rasmus MISERY Philipsen hardly ever considered a top-class star, but he is one of the most accomplished European players. He has as many as seven appearances at The International and the vice-championship in 2016 under the DC tag. Curiously, every time MISERY came to TI as part of a new organization.
After the end of TI9, where he could not leave the group with the roster, MISERY tried himself in different stacks, but none of them was really successful. The Danish esportsman was able to assemble a relatively combat strength only in Hellbear Smashers… However, the roster failed to get through to The International, given the competition in Europe.
Nigma
Surely fans will miss all four core players Nigma galaxywho have been performing together for five years. For the captain of KuroKy, this International will generally be the first that he will not play. He has one victory in the tournament, two vice-championships and one hit in the top-4.
This year, Nigma, like in 2019, changed carries during the season. With the only difference that then the team already had a slot at TI, won together with MATUMBAMANand this time iLTW came to a squad that was far from being in the best shape. Even if the team performed well at the Major in Kiev, they were unable to surprise OG and Tundra at the qualifiers and took only third place. So this year we will not see the highlights from Miracle-, miracles from Gh on Earth Spirit, funny smile MinD_ContRoL and the thoughtful KuroKy.
Ex-Virtus.pro
This year, two young teams from the CIS are going to The International, of which only one player has been to this tournament before. Therefore, the number of stars in the region, left without TI, is simply off scale. It is rather difficult to single out someone specific, because the CIS, in fact, has not had any serious achievements at the main tournament of the year since 2013. So let’s just pay tribute to the entire “golden” lineup Virtus.pro… The team participated in tournaments of the series three times: it reached the top 6 twice and once stopped at the top 12 stage. Moreover, every time Virtus.pro came to The International as almost the main contender for the trophy, which after several years of stagnation (after the end of the NAVI era) was a real joy for fans from the CIS.
You all know very well what happened to VP’s roster after TI9. Now 9pasha stands for HellRaisers, No.[o]ne and Solo switched to NAVI, RodjER was left without a team, and RAMZES666 and became a streamer altogether. Perhaps we will still hear their nicknames after the loud phrase Welcome on stage, but definitely not this time.
Which professional player will you miss the most at TI10?
