One of the most criticized aspects of the recently released role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Remake from company Square enix has become visual component. Despite the fact that almost everyone agrees that the picture gives a positive impression, sometimes it becomes like a real CGI movie, there is one drawback – texture quality.
Various objects of far and near plans in Final Fantasy VII Remake now and then turn into the real “porridge“, meeting the players with muddy, unloaded textures. Professional journalists and various technical portals wrote about problems of this kind (for example, the team Digital foundry), and ordinary users. Accordingly, theories were voiced very different: someone complained about the weakness of iron Playstation 4others scolded the engine Unreal engine 4, and someone was convinced that the developers were just too lazy to create high-quality assets. But, it looks like the internet is finally unraveling.

In his “true guise“the files are so large that uploading them to some kind of image hosting is not possible, so the datamainer placed one of the collections on a separate cloud storage.
Further Necroalx I tried to analyze the situation based on my own experience with Unreal engine and concluded: Texture problems in Final Fantasy VII Remake are caused by incorrect data loading.rather than low quality assets created.
In other words, in order to maximize the download speed of various visual information, the game engine prefers lower-quality textures and models that users most often should not see in principle.
Datamainer later reported that resolving this error may be somewhat more time-consuming than it might seem at first.. The enthusiast suggested that, ideally, developers would have to manually test everything “problematic“textures and geometry, giving them the necessary download priority. According to NecroAlx, all this work is quite feasible and can even be automated, but the fan doubts that Square enix To date, she has not dismissed the technical team responsible for the graphic part of the game, which could spend time and effort on all the necessary edits.
Eventually Necroalx noted that even if the version on Playstation 4 won’t get any improvements potential PC-port of the project can go on sale already without problem areas of graphics. And even if the error persists there, enthusiasts will be able to correct it themselves.
