Does Project CARS 3 have problems? DriveClub creators leave Codemasters a second time

Last week, the announcement of a racing simulator Project CARS 3. The project is being developed by the studio. Slightly mad studios, which in 2019 was bought by a British publisher Codemasters.

However, the company is currently experiencing strange shifts. According to the game director Paul Rustchinsky, he leaves Slightly Mad Studios to form a new team of 50+ people under the flag in Liverpool Avalanche Studios Group (creators Just cause) Before that, Rustchinsky managed to work on Onush, Driveclub and Motorstorm.

Moreover, the developer took several more employees from Codemasters, including Paul Chandler, Richard Britt, Dave Bramhall and Alexa Perkins. One thing unites them all: they worked in Evolution studios and had a hand in DriveClub.

Now it is impossible to say whether there was a conflict inside Codemasters. But it is known for sure that after the OnRush failure, the publisher’s leadership in 2018 reorganized the development team, which consisted of Evolution veterans, and fired several people, including Rustchinsky himself, who acted as the project manager.

Left without work, the game director went to Slightly Mad Studios … which was eventually absorbed by Codemasters. Given that insiders have reported a conflict between the publisher and the creators of OnRush, it is not surprising that they do not want to work for the old owners.

At the same time, it cannot be said yet what effect will have on production Project CARS 3 exodus of skilled personnel from Slightly Mad Studios.
