Does PlayStation 5 support RDNA 2? AMD announced support for ray tracing in several next-generation consoles

As part of the financial report, the company AMD officially announced that several consoles of the new generation are based on architecture at once RDNA 2, which will allow developers to access the hardware architecture for ray tracing. Before that, only one such system was known – Microsoft Xbox Series X.

Given this, three assumptions can be made. The most logical is Sony PlayStation 5 works for RDNA 2. The second theory – we are talking about a cheaper console Xbox series s, rumors about which intensified this week. The third option – both theories are correct.

“We’ve created a new hardware architecture for ray tracing, which is part of RDNA 2. It’s a common architecture that is used in next-generation consoles. This will greatly simplify content creation,” said David Wang of AMD.
